Tall Trees at Westonbirt Arboretum. Discover tree tales from around the world, join in the fun story activities and create your own book or puppet to take home. Starts 10.30am.

Tuesday 3rd
A day of activities inspired by the adventures of Alice in Wonderland at Cheltenham Art Gallery. Follow the Card trail, make a Queen of Hearts crown or a Cheshire cat mask and listen to Alice stories - and enjoy a Mad Hatter's tea party.

Amazing Animal Masks at Stroud's Museum in the Park. Join artist Phillipa Cain and create an amazing farm animal mask to wear and take home. For children age 5 - 11. Under 8s must be accompanied by a parent or carer. 01453 763394

Kung Fu at the leisure centre. Mixing traditional Kung Fu techniques with games & exercise to improve flexibility, strength and co-ordination. Non contact, age 5 - 10 years. 01285 654057
Friday 6th
Gatcombe Park Horse Trials. This renowned event takes place at the spectacular home of the Princess Royal and her family and incorporates the British Open.
Saturday 7th
Bowood House host the Wiltshire Game and Country Fair. An action-packed weekend with falconry, gundogs, and a myriad of country pursuits.  Craftsmen demonstrate their skills in the Craft Village, there are culinary delights in Food Glorious Food and live cookery demonstrations and tastings. Have A Go sessions in falconry, fishing, dog handling, archery and gun shooting! For younger children there are entertainments, puppet shows and make & take sessions. Opens 10am.
Saturday 7th
Cold Ashton Village Fayre. Traditional village fete with games,teas,bric a brac, nearly new, plants,books, brass band, church flowers, chldren's garden and dog show. Woof, woof. 01451 810119
Sunday 8th

Cheltenham Playhouse present Lewis Carroll's immortal Alice in Wonderland  - retold in panto style but with the usual suspects all  present and correct as Alice takes a trip down a rabbit hole to play croquet and take a seat at the most unusual tea party. 01242 522852

Make a miniature garden in a pot at Stroud's Museum in the Park. Find an old fashioned or unusual china tea cup, saucer or small bowl, bring it to the Museum and transform it into a mini-garden. 01453 763394

Thomas and his troublesome chums are in residence at Dean Forest Railway. If you are travelling to Lydney on the big railway from Gloucester or Newport directions, catch trains to Norchard from Lydney Junction station which is close to the main line station. Monday 11th (ongoing)
FUNdamental movement classes get underway in Chesterton, Cirencester. Developed by British Gymnastics, the 'FUNdamental Movement Ideas for Early Years' scheme has been designed to help young people enjoy physical exercise. The emphasis is on 'FUN', and the 'Funky Cat' character and his family introduces a wide range of physical activities based around 16 different themes. Designed for children from walking to 6 years, the activities will help children to learn basic movement skills with the experience of managing their bodies, and incorporates the pleasure of moving and listening to music. Frday 29th (and 30th)
Get along to Prinknash Bird Park for their spectacular halloween night celebrations, fast becoming a must see in Gloucestershire. Trick & Treat the wicked witch in the Wendy House, walk the illuminated enchanted wood (spooky!) get yourself up in suitable fancy dress, get your face painted and have your fortune told. Friday 5th 
Leonard Stanley School are having a Bonfire Night - gates open at 6pm. Get along for a fun evening of  fireworks and music. BBQ food, drinks and glowsticks will be be available for purchase. Sorry, no sparklers and no unaccompanied children under the age of 16
